Gerald D. Penick, Sr. - President

- President of Southeastern California Conference since November 2004.
- Executive secretary of the conference from 1992 to 2004.
- Assistant to the president for Black ministries, director of Community Services, inner city ministries and prison ministries, and Ingathering coordinator from 1989 to 1992.
- Began his ministry in Southeastern California Conference in 1981, when he came from Cleveland, Ohio, to be senior pastor of the Kansas Avenue church in Riverside. Later he served as senior pastor of the Thirty-first Street church in San Diego.
- Early service for the Seventh-day Adventist Church included literature evangelism in the South Atlantic Conference, teaching music at Mississippi Valley State University, and pastoring churches in the Central States and Allegheny West conferences.
- Holds an ordained/commissioned minister credential.
- A native of Topeka, Kansas.
- In addition to speaking at events in the conference such as camp meetings, weeks of prayer, evangelistic crusades, ordinations, workers meetings, and church services, Pastor Penick serves on various committees in the conference, the Pacific Union, and the North
American Division.
- Within the conference, he chairs the conference Executive Committee, Administrative Council, and Resource Committee. He also is a member of the board of trustees of La Sierra University, Paradise Valley Hospital, and South Coast Medical Center.
- Pastor Penick and his wife, Linda, are the parents of three sons, Gerald Junior, Eric, and Anthony.
- A pianist and organist, Pastor Penick is passionate about music and uses his musical talents at churches and events in the conference.
